"Here's the strategy tghat I have used. It's taken me decades to learn it, and it has worked: In the good years, work very hard to win everything that's possibly winnable. In the bad years, work just as hard to keep your losses to a minimum. There are good times, and there are bad times. But you have to stay in the game." Edward Zigler
“It’s not all about you. You have to take your ego out of it and think what is best for this child, and you care about them enough to help them transition through it.” Renatta M Cooper
"Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence." - Abigail Adams
and one of my all time favorite educational quote:
"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." - Albert Einstein

ReplyDeleteKaleena,
ReplyDeleteWow, I had to use that quotes from Renatta M. Cooper that is so true. Sometime we are stuck on our needs only and not other.
The quote from Renatta Cooper is now among my all time favorite.
DeleteKaleena! I love all of your quotations especially the ones from Dr. Marilyn Friend and Albert Einstein. I also think collaboration is critical for ensuring an effective place for students to learn and teachers to teach. I have seen firsthand two pre-K teachers who are supposed to work together not get along and the children pick up on their negative behaviors. It made me feel bad for both the kids and the teachers because it just did not feel like a positive environment conducive to learning or working. Collaboration is key!
ReplyDeleteThe worst that I have seen is when the general education teacher and the special education teacher need to collaborate and they dislike each other and refuse too. It only hurts the child. As the quote from Renatta Cooper you have to get your ego out and focus on the child.
